Pearl glanced round as the bell above her door rang, signifying that someone had entered.

Lily stepped into the shop and looked around curiously. She didn't know anything about medicine. Where could she start?

"Can i help you with anything?" Pearl asked politely. She didn't recognize the person standing in front of her, and she was good at remembering faces.

Pearl watched her, interested. "And whats that?" She leaned forward on the counter, sensing a long story.

"I don't know." Lily sighed. "He's sick. He hasn't been himself at all recently....I'm worried about him, but I don't know what I can do to help him, or even if he can be helped. Is it possible for you to check up on him, or is there anyone I can see to check up on him?"

Lily smiled and led the other woman out of the shop, into a building nearby. Tobias was asleep. That was a good thing, he didn't like the thought of someone coming to check up on him.

"Is that him?" Pearl asked, hearing the snoring. "What symptoms have you noticed? Any odd behavior? Anything else, please mention it."

Lily went through and knelt down next to the sofa where Tobias was sleeping, and gently kissed him on the forehead. He never got any sleep at night, so she was glad to see he was now.

"Um...." Lily thought about it. She couldn't exactly go right out and say he turned into a shadow monster every night. That would mean her in a nuthouse and Tobias being experimented on. "He's tired all the time, he's got a high fever. He hardly eats or drinks anything, and he doesn't sleep at night. I'm worried about him."

Pearl sighed. That could mean anything. She looked at the girl and frowned slightly. "I've seen some pretty abnormal stuff. Don't hold things back from me because I might be able to help him."

Lily shifted uncomfortably and looked at Tobias. Maybe he had been right about not going to anybody for help. She was already regretting her choice. She rested her forehead against his burning one and closed her eyes, praying for everything to just go away. For this to have all been a bad dream. To be in their mansion in Goranham, like it was before all of this had happened.

Pearl nodded, deciding not to get ticked off with an insignificant human. She walked over to the sofa where the sleeping man lay. She did the usual, checking his vital signs and temperature. Then, planning to compel the lady afterwards, she sunk her teeth into the mans wrist, checking to see if his blood was infected - and because she was a little thirsty. She choked and spat it out, his own blood spraying against his face. his blood was horrid, with an unnatural not even animal taste to it. She fled from the room.

Lily jerked in surprise when the woman bit down on Tobias's wrist, crying out at her, and when the other fled she crouched down next to her husband and wiped the blood off of his face. What was going on now?
